Today we have another dunk from the original 3 SB Dunks transformed and retroed into a high top. Similar to the recently reviewed Supas and Ginos, the Nike Dunk High SB Mulder gets its name from an SB team rider who helped design the colorway.
The spare laces included are Orion Blue.
While these could work with a darker outfit, I think a light look is a bit better. These are basically a white tee and jeans type of shoe. Light wash, grey and khaki denim can provide a more summery vibe while a medium or darker blue denim would give off a more crisp appearance. A white, blue or grey top can complete the look easily.
While not the most attention-getting SB out there, it was necessary to grab these in order to complete the Supa-Gino-Mulder low to high set. Now that I have them all in hand, the collector in me is satisfied. I’m not sure if I like this particular colorway more as a low or high, but at least with these I’m getting a relatively new pair to break in!
How Are The Materials?
For these we have a rather inconsisten leather, with some parts being shinier and other parts a little more textured with light tumbling. Overall I’d rate them about the same as the Supa highs. To be honest, the original Mulders didn’t have amazing leather, just good enough, and these are no different. The upper rear of the shoe utilizes a thick mesh which adds some stability and seems to be of decent quality.
How Do They Fit?
As is typical of new SB Dunks, these fit stiff and narrow, so definitely go true to size or size a half up for wide feet. Overall these provide a decent amount of comfort after a short break in period. The zoom air adds some bounce to the insole and the uppers will loosen and after a wear or two.
